Unlock in J&K: More relaxations from today, see guidelines
The Jammu and Kashmir announced to further relax the lockdown restrictions in UT and said that the number of COVID-19 patients and positivity rate are declining.
As per an order issued by DC Jammu, last week’s roster on opening of shops will continue for next week in Jammu district.
However, bakeries and book stores have been included in essential items category and will remain open from Monday to Friday, he said.
On Saturday, State Executive Committee (SEC) announced further relaxations in COVID lockdown in Poonch and Kishtwar districts due to improvement in situation there.
SEC order said that border shops, salons and parlors will remain open four days a week (except Saturday and Sundays) in the two districts as per the days to be notified by the concerned Deputy Commissioners.
“Standalone shops, outdoor bazaars and outdoor shopping complexes will also open for four days except weekend,” the order said.
Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday reported 23 new COVID-19 deaths and 1,440 new cases.
As per the government data, 1,102 of the fresh cases were reported from Kashmir division and 338 in Jammu.
Of the 23 fresh fatalities, eight of them have been reported in Jammu division while 15 were reported in Kashmir taking the overall tally in J&K to 4,074
