Jammu: TODAY Jammu Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha inaugurated 35 power projects worth Rs 44.14Cr augmenting the overall Capacity by 367MVA in Jammu. Also launched 5 e-Services of PDD for convenience of public.
Application for new electricity connection can now be submitted online; to be processed in a time-bound manner.
Decade long overdue upgradation of power infrastructure is being done in a sustained manner. We are eliminating the legacy of delays. Languishing projects hanging for long are being completed in record times.
Recently in Jammu, even though summer preparedness was done in advance, unfortunately, our people had to suffer.
I assure you that power distribution system of the region will be strengthened to its full potential so that in future, people don't have to face any inconvenience.
A long-term strategy is being implemented on the ground to ensure 20-22 hours of continuous electricity like other parts of the country. Directions have been issued to cover any leftover Unelectrified habitations by Dec 2021.Government to incentivize hardworking staff of PDD.
We are taking effective steps in a time-bound manner to augment the power capacity in the UT. With new projects under execution, 3498 MW of additional power to be generated in the next 4-5 years.
