Panchayat member among 2 arrested for attacking police party in Reasi
Reasi: Police arrested two persons, including a Panchayat member, for attacking a police party in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Reasi, Shailendra Singh said that two notorious criminals involved in mischief and attack on Police party and creating law and order problem in Chassana area have been arrested in the cases already registered against them.
On August 31, the SSP said that some notorious criminals attacked police party when the accused wanted in rape case namely Prem Singh and his accomplices of Thalkote-Chassana were arrested.
Prem Singh is a history sheeter and is involved in seven cases including rape and attempt to murder, he said.
The top cop added that Police arrested two wanted accused persons Naib Sarpanch Maqsood Hussain Shah of Shergarhi Chassana and Bharat Singh of Thalkot.
“No one is above the law of the land and one who tries to disturb peace in the area shall be dealt with strictly,” said Mr Singh.
