Four Thousand People Fined for not Wearing Mask in Jammu, Rs 17000 Recovered from Violators
Jammu: In view of the increasing cases of corona infection in district Jammu, the Jammu Police has intensified action against people roaming on the city’s streets without wearing masks. In the first 18 days of this month (November 1 to 18), the Jammu Police has challaned about four thousand people roaming on the road without wearing masks. Police recovered a fine of Rs 17 lakh from these people on the spot.
Jammu Samba Kathua Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Vivek Gupta said that the government had set rules to prevent coronavirus infection. People are required to wear masks when they go out of the house. It is important to keep washing hands continuously, and with this, it is also necessary to follow physical distance.
He has asked all the stations in charge of the Jammu district to motivate the people who are constantly roaming in the markets in their vehicles to wear masks. In addition, people should be made aware by making announcements from vehicles’ loudspeakers that they must follow the rules to protect against coronavirus. He said that this campaign of the police would intensify in the coming days.
People should also cooperate with the police for this work. Let the elderly and children leave the house only when necessary. It should be noted that District Commissioner Jammu has also imposed a night curfew in Jammu because of the increasing cases of coronavirus infection.
Cases of corona infection continue to come in Jammu and Kashmir. The infection was confirmed in 193 more people on Friday. Including these, 3,35,016 people have been infected so far. At the same time, after the recovery of 105 patients, 3,28,888 patients have become healthy so far. The good thing is that none of the patients died.
Similarly, the vaccination campaign is also going on. On Friday, 1206 people took the first dose, while 33,159 people took the second dose. So far, a total of one crore, sixty lakh, more than 91 thousand doses have been given to people in Jammu and Kashmir.
