BCCI to suspend KL Rahul and Rashid Khan from IPL if found guilty
According to Insidesport, the new Lucknow franchise has contacted KL Rahul and Rashid Khan to join their team for the new IPL season in 2022. After learning about the move, Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad have lodge a complaint with the BCCI regarding the steps taken by a new team.
They have accused Lucknow based team of poaching, a practice which is banned by the governing body of the Indian cricket. Ravindra Jadeja, who had a contract with Rajasthan Royals in 2010, was suspended for a season after he contacted other franchise for a better deal.
Meanwhile, the BCCI has assured PBKS and SRH of looking into the matter. If KL Rahul and Rashid Khan are found guilty of talking to the franchise, they are likely to be suspended for a season. The players are not allowed to get in touch with a rival team before the trading window. Also, they are under contract with their current teams till November 30.
Rahul wants to join a new team ahead of the 15th season of the tournament. Rashid, on the other hand, doesn’t want to be retained as a No.2 choice player by the franchise.
