Dr. Banarsi Lal of KVK, Reasi conferred National Outstanding Researcher Award-2021

Reasi: Dr. Banarsi Lal, Incharge, Senior Scientist and Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) has been conferred with the prestigious ‘National Outstanding Researcher Award-2021’ by the Green Thinkers Z Society on the basis of his outstanding achievements and accomplishments in the field of agriculture.
The esteem society advocates the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and recognizes the outstanding scientists and academicians across the globe for their remarkable achievements and contributions. The research panel considered Dr. Banarsi for the coveted award on the basis of his research papers in national and international journals as first author, books as first author, popular and research articles as first author, book chapters as first author, success stories as first author, case studies as first author, consultancy services provided, research and extension technologies refined, developed and disseminated, projects handled etc.
for the welfare of the farming community. It is worthwhile to mention here that Dr. Banarsi has developed an innovative Exponential Communication Model which is unique in itself to assess the communication behavior of farmers and has been widely acknowledged at national and international level. He has also done extensive research work on entertainment farm education, attitude and beavioural measurements etc. Dr. Banarsi was the gold medalist and is an alumnus of Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, UP which is the premiere institute of the nation.
He is also serving as Principle Investigator (PI) and Co-Principle Investigator (PI) of some innovative projects undergoing in Reasi district of J&K especially for the rural youths and tribal farmers respectively.
He is also recipient of many zonal, national and international awards. Dr. Banarsi hails from Kathua district of J&K and has been working at KVK, Reasi for more than 14 years. He is upgrading the skills and knowledge of the farming community of hilly areas with the new and innovative agricultural extension approaches to strengthen the agricultural sector even in the far-flung areas.
