GCOE Organizes Cleanliness Drive under Tawi Bridge Jammu under the program Swachh Bharat Abhiyan
Jammu: NSS volunteers of Government College of Education Jammu today conducted cleanliness drive on the banks of River Tawi under the program 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'.
Students cleaned the Tawi banks and raised the slogan 'One Step Towards Cleanliness'. The NSS Volunteers also generated awareness among the public about the importance of keeping water bodies clean.
The Principal of GCOE, Dr. Kulvinder Kour, said that cleanliness is most important for physical well-being and a healthy environment. She also told the students not to litter on the roads and go for a clean and green environment to nurture it for future generations.
The Program was adroitly conducted by Dr. Shubhra Jamwal, NSS Nodal Officer along with NSS Volunteers.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shubhra Jamwal said that it is essential for everyone to learn about cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, and various diseases that are caused due to poor hygienic conditions.
Prof. Shapia Shameem Bhatti, Prof. Seema Kumari, and Prof. Sarita Dogra were also present at the event. They urged the students to make their parents aware of cleanliness. They appreciated the efforts of the NSS Volunteers and said that a selfish spirit to serve the nation and society is the fundamental principle of an NSS service.
The staff and students thanked the Principal and promised to abide by the advice of all.
