Rain lashed the plains while snow occurred in the higher reaches of J&K on Sunday
Jammu: Continuously clear weather is witnessing dry cold in Jammu and Kashmir. Meteorological Center Srinagar has warned of rain and snowfall in the state from Sunday, December 5. Heavy rain and snow may occur in some parts of Kashmir and the Jammu division. Traffic on national highways in the valley is expected to be affected due to snowfall. Meanwhile, the valley is in the grip of a cold wave. There is dry winter in the Jammu division.
There may be more snowfall in the mountainous areas of Pir Panjal in the Jammu division. However, the weather remained clear in the state on Saturday. Pahalgam was the coldest place, with the minimum temperature being minus 2.0 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in Srinagar was minus 0.7 degrees.
The minimum temperature in Gulmarg was recorded at minus 1.2 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in the Jammu division was 25.7 degrees Celsius, and the minimum was 13.4 degrees Celsius. Katra recorded a maximum temperature of 21.0 and a minimum temperature of 11.7 degrees Celsius. The cold will increase further due to rain and snowfall.
