Two Lakh worth stolen property recovered, thief arrested by Reasi Police
Reasi: On 21st of November one Babli Devi and his husband Rajinder Singh resident of Seela tehsil and district Reasi reported in Police Station Reasi that on the intervening night of 20/21 of November both were not at home when theft was committed. During night hours thieves broke in her house at Seela and decamped with 01 Gold nath, 01 tikka, 01 mangalsutra, 01 pair of earrings, one ring, 01 pair of silver payal worth more than two lakh.
On getting this information case FIR No. 226/2021 U/S 457, 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Reasi and investigations initiated.
Police team swung into action and suspects were rounded up. With the help of CCTV footage and enquiries zeroed upon one prime suspect in the case. During investigations it came to fore that the said suspect was at Seela, Reasi on the day of occurrence of crime. he was identified as Kewal Singh son of Kaka Ram resident of Garhi tehsil Thakrakote, district Reasi.
On the night of 15th of December 2021 Police team raided and rounded up the suspect from and put him to sustained questioning to which Kewal Singh confessed about the theft.
On his disclosure Police team recovered the stolen Gold and Silver items with a worth of rupees ₹ 2.04 Lakh.
On this accused arrested and further investigation in the case is going on to unearth his links in other theft cases in the district.
