Who is Goldy Brar, Canada-based gangster believed to be behind Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala’s murder
In a chilling development, a Canada-based gangster, Goldy Brar, has reportedly claimed responsibility for the gruesome murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. Moosewala was killed in broad daylight in the Mnasa district inside his Mahindra SUV on Sunday.
A journalist tweeted informing that Brar had claimed responsibility for Moosewala’s murder. “Canada based gangster Goldy Brar has taken responsibility of murder of @iSidhuMooseWala . He is close associate of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Brar said his module in Punjab carried out attack on Sidhu Moosewala,” journalist Gagandeep Singh tweeted.
Goldy Brar is a Canada-based gangster and is wanted in so many criminal cases by the Indian authorities. Earlier this month, A Faridpur court had issued an open-ended non-bailable arrest warrant against Brar for killing the district Youth Congress president, Gurlal Singh Pehalwan. Brar, whose real name is Satinder Singh, is wanted by authorities in India in many other criminal cases.
The Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of Punjab Police had earlier arrested three close aides of jailed gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Brar from Bathinda. Those arrested were identified as Lovepreet Singh alias Sachin of village Charewaan, Himmatveer Singh Gill of village Jhorar and Balkaran alias Vicky of village Chak Dukhe Wala of Sri Muktsar Sahib. Two of those arrested criminals were involved in drug smuggling and illegal weapon trafficking, said the police.
The Punjab Police had also arrested Gagan Brar, the key associate of Goldy Brar, in April this year.
According to local media reports in Punjab, these criminals took orders from Brar to provide hideouts to absconding gangsters of the National Capital Region.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has vowed to hunt the killer of Moosewala. He wrote on Twitter, “I am deeply saddened and shocked by the horrific murder of Sidhu Musewala..No culprit will be spared..My heartfelt sympathies and prayers are with his family and his fans all over the world..All appeal to all to remain calm I do.”
Mann, however, did not explain why his government had removed Moosewala’s security cover without properly analysing his security threats.
