J&K: Curfew in Bhaderwah town after tension over social media post
Bhaderwah: Curfew was imposed in Bhaderwah town of Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir after tension erupted over a social media post, officials said.
A purported video of instigating announcements being made from a mosque is said to be the trigger behind the latest tensions. A case has been registered at the Bhaderwah police station.
In a stern warning, the administration said that anyone taking law into their hands will not be spared.
Thursday's development follows close on the heels of alleged vandalism at a temple in the district.
Pictures of alleged vandalism at Lord Vasuki Nag temple, situated at 17,400 feet Kailash Kund, surfaced on social media earlier this week. Protests erupted in several places, leading to additional deployment of forces in sensitive areas as a precautionary measure.
