J&K: BIG Update By Regarding State Land by Chief Secretary, Check Here
The Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, announced that state land that has been taken over by vested interests is being reclaimed for public use.
He emphasized that the anti-encroachment drive is being carried out in the interest of common people and that the land belongs to the masses. The Chief Secretary stated that the retrieved land will be used for public facilities such as hospitals, schools, playgrounds, bus stands, industries, and parking spaces, which will ultimately lead to overall development in the region.
The Deputy Commissioners of Jammu & Kashmir were instructed to protect the livelihoods of the poor and downtrodden, and to quickly develop plans for using the reclaimed land for development purposes.
A dedicated portal will be created by the IT department to reflect the actual amount of state land retrieved, and the Revenue Department will carry out geo-referencing of these public assets to preserve them for the public.
Some people have voluntarily given up their encroached land and the Chief Secretary encouraged others to follow suit and provide written testimonies.
