JKSSB Announces Upcoming Recruitment Exams For Various Government Positions
The Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection and Recruitment Board (SSRB) has announced the approval of a list of over 2,300 successful candidates for government posts, according to an official statement on February 17. The appointments will help address staff shortages in various departments, including the health sector.
The list of 1,534 candidates for junior assistant posts referred to the board by various departments has been finalized, with a notification set to be issued soon, SSRB Chairman Rajesh Sharma told PTI. The board has also approved the list of selected candidates for the posts of junior staff nurse (582) and ANM/health worker (202), according to Sharma. These lists were approved in the 220th board meeting held on Thursday.
The delay in finalizing the list was due to some of the candidates having gone to court, the chairman said, but the board has expedited the process following court orders on the petitions.
The board has also announced upcoming recruitment exams for 1,390 posts of Junior Engineers in various departments, 1,972 posts for finance accounts assistants, and 1,395 posts for panchayat secretaries in March and April this year, according to Sharma.
The board is working on a calendar of activities for the recruitment of government jobs, Sharma added. “We are working on framing a calendar of examinations for six to eight months right now. The annual calendar will help in time-bound and expeditious recruitment processes,” he said.
The latest appointments come as Jammu and Kashmir continues to grapple with staff shortages in various sectors, highlighting the need for continued efforts to recruit skilled personnel to fill vacant posts.
