JKSSB Stands Firm: Rejects Sub-Inspector Exam Answer Key Challenge by Applicant
The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has maintained its decision, dismissing the challenge to the final answer key for the Sub-Inspector (Home Department) exam conducted in December 2022. The board rejected the representation filed by candidates, including Musaib Ayoub, stating it was inadmissible as per JKSSB regulations.
The applicants had sought intervention from the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) Srinagar Bench, prompting a directive for JKSSB to review the representation according to rules. However, JKSSB, citing Rule 57 of its regulations, emphasized that no further objections could be entertained after the issuance of the revised/final answer key on November 3, 2022.
The order, issued yesterday, deemed the applicants’ representation “factually incorrect, legally not tenable, and devoid of any merit.” This comes after a comprehensive assessment of Rule 63, which allows corrections in the result but does not extend to altering the final answer key.
The selection process for 1,200 Sub-Inspector (Home Department) positions commenced on December 7, 2022, with the provisional answer key released on December 28, 2022. The window for raising objections closed on January 2, 2023, leading to the issuance of the final answer key by JKSSB.
