Waiting List Restored for J&K Govt Vacancies, Download PDF
Waiting List Restored for J&K Govt Vacancies: In a recent development, the General Administration Department of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has reinstated the waiting list for government positions.
This decision comes in light of the provisions outlined in the Constitution and the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Decentralization and Recruitment) Act, 2010.
According to the notification issued by the Civil Secretariat, J&K, the Lieutenant Governor has directed the addition of a new sub-rule (7) to rule 14 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services Decentralization and Recruitment Rules, 2010.
This sub-rule mandates the concerned Selection Committees to draw up a waiting list comprising 50% of the total number of posts advertised. In cases where the number of vacancies is ten or less, the waiting list is extended to cover 100% of the vacancies.
The Selection Committees are required to forward this waiting list through the Board to the requisitioning authority for consideration against drop-out vacancies.
