SMVDU receives Rs. 20 Crore Grant under GSU Component of PM-USHA Scheme
Katra: In a significant boost to higher education, the Ministry of Higher Education, GoI has allocated a grant of Rs 20 crores to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, a renowned technical university in UT J&K, which has been awarded under Grant to Strengthen Universities (GSU) Component of PM-USHA Scheme. The Project Approval Board (PAB) of the PM-USHA Scheme of the Ministry of Education, Government of India in its 1st meeting approved the grants to SMVDU.
SMVDU, in a communication, said that this financial boost, made possible through the PM-USHA initiative, would help SMVDU enhance its academic infrastructure and research potential. The funds will be utilized to upgrade laboratories, modernize classrooms, NEP implementation, and promote interdisciplinary research. SMVDU is the only University in UT of J&K that has been designated to receive the grants under this scheme.
