UGC NET June 2024 Exam Cancelled by NTA following irregularities, CBI Intervenes
In a significant development, the Ministry of Education has announced the cancellation of the UGC-NET June 2024 Examination. Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on June 18th, 2024, in OMR (pen and paper) mode, the examination took place in two shifts across various cities in India.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) received alarming inputs from the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs on June 19th, 2024. Preliminary findings indicate potential compromises to the integrity of the examination.
To uphold the highest standards of transparency and examination sanctity, the Ministry of Education has decided to cancel the UGC-NET June 2024 Examination. The announcement emphasizes the government’s commitment to fair examination practices. A new date for the rescheduled examination will be announced separately, ensuring all affected candidates are duly informed.
Furthermore, the issue has been escalated to the Central Bureau of Investigation (C.B.I.) for an in-depth investigation, highlighting the government’s zero-tolerance approach towards any malpractices.
NEET (UG) 2024 Examination Update
In related news, the Ministry addressed concerns regarding the NEET (UG) 2024 Examination. Previous issues related to grace marks have been resolved. However, allegations of irregularities in Patna have prompted the government to seek a comprehensive report from the Economic Offences Unit of the Bihar Police. Further actions will be determined based on this report.
The Ministry reassures all students and stakeholders that it remains steadfast in ensuring the sanctity of examinations. Strict actions will be taken against any individuals or organizations found guilty of compromising the examination processes.
This decision comes amid the celebrations of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, marking 75 years of India’s independence. The government remains dedicated to protecting the interests of students and maintaining the integrity of the nation’s educational assessments.
