Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, 85 Others Take Oath as Jammu Kashmir Legislators





SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and 85 newly elected members took the oath of office on Monday as legislators of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. Pro-tem Speaker Mubarik Gul presided over the swearing-in ceremony, who administered the oath to the assembly members.

Omar Abdullah was the first to be sworn in, followed by his council of ministers and other Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs). The Pro-tem Speaker congratulated the newly elected legislators and expressed confidence that they would address public welfare issues with professionalism. He urged the MLAs to work together to ensure the steady progress of the state under the leadership of the Omar Abdullah-led government.

Mubarik Gul emphasised that the administration would focus on fostering peace, progress, and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir. He also extended gratitude to the departments involved in organising the smooth conduct of the oath-taking ceremony.


During the event, it was announced that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has vacated the Budgam assembly seat, retaining the Ganderbal constituency.
